In former days X11 would blank the display OK; it went "click" and
turned black ... Now when X11 blanks the display it appears to be set to
an unsupported video mode; it turns black but has occasional random
streaks and makes randomish soft whistling noises, as if it can't sync
properly. Anyone know where this is configured ??
