I suggest that since most mailing lists do *not* follow such a convention, that catering to the
few who have such problems is an unnecessary burden on the rest of us. Most "modern" mailers have
some kind of filtering facility. If you want these features, *get a new mailer*. When the mailer
that I use (a NeXT, by the way!) did not have filtering, I built my own mail filtering system
using Perl.

You are LINUX USERS! Get out there and do what Linux users do best, when a system doesn't do what
you want, change it!

Yes, I know, some people receive their mail through less flexible systems. However, if they
continue to do so, they will have to put up with the lack of features. I would rather *not* see a
prefix prepended to all messages from the Linux group since it just clutters up the subject fields
when displaying messages. However, if you choose to go ahead with the plan, at least I have the
capability to alter my filter to delete the prefix so that I don't have to see it! (:-)
