Going by the theory of how EDO ram works compaired to normal DRAM there
should be no problem putting EDO into an older motherboard. But I have a
486 here that I tried to put EDO ram into and it wouldn't take it. I had
60ns EDO ram 8 megs simms, and 60ns DRAM 8 meg simms. It would take the
DRAM but not the EDO. My old pentium motherboard doesn't support EDO ram,
but I have 80 megs of EDO ram on it.
I think it depends on your motherboard more then anything else. If its a
real old motherboard I'd say its better safe then sorry and go with plan
DRAM.
