For extremely high-volume installations, this might be the case,
although I suspect that vmailer will walk all over both exim and
qmail in this case. For `low' volume installations, which is
everything up to and including small-to-medium size ISPs, sendmail
should be fine. We do nearly 10 GB of mail per month in each
direction, and we don't even notice the load from sendmail.
