A more flexible mailer?

Hello Linux Gurus,

I, like you, wear many hats. (grad student, sports team member, committee
member, etc. etc.) and I have one e-mail address for each hat that I wear.

I currently use PINE on many UNIX platforms, one for each address that I
use, including a couple on my private Linux box.

The Netscape mailer allows me to set my return e-mail address to be
whatever I want it to. PINE does not.

ok ok ... on to the question.

Is there a mailer program, for Linux, that will let me have a single
interface to all my incoming mail [to say multiple mail folders, one for
each address] (and of course, hopefully it will be a nice interface with
all the bells and features ;-) BUT will seemlessly allow me to reply to
mail from each address wearing the appropriate hat.

One of the reasons that I need this is that I want to use my Linux box to
send mail where the From: address would correspond to some other host
(which forwards mail to me.)

Do any of you have favorite mail programs other than PINE that would help
me?

thanks.
