As most of you know, Andrew Daviel has maintained a Vancouver Linux
Mailing List archive and such at
http://vancouver-webpages.com/vlinux/
for the past few years. As an interim measure, I recently asked him
to update the information concerning the Vancouver Linux Users Group,
including the agenda for our next meeting.
Meanwhile, many of you have expressed interest in contributing to a
more comprehensive web presence for the group. This will be a fair
amount of work given that we'll have to
* find a suitable host (assuming Andrew doesn't want to host the
expanded site.)
* register a suitable host and domain name, e.g., www.vanlug.org
* decide what information to include on the site
* decide upon a suitable tree structure/hierarchy for the site
* design a suitable home page
* recruit people to author subsidiary pages
* maintain it!
So this is a big, long-term project. If you would like to contribute,
please contact Steering Committee member Simon deWeerdt
(deweerdt@physics.ubc.ca).
