At last night's steering committee meeting, we agreed to put together
a "Linux in Vancouver" brochure and ask two or three of the more
prominent local retailers of Linux books and software to distribute
them for us.
The proposed brochure will, at the very least, let people know that
the Vancouver Linux Users Group and Mailing List exist and how to
contact us!

is coordinating this effort. If you would like to help out, please
let him know.
(Interesting aside: I'm told that Multimedia on W. Broadway reports
that sales of the SuSE distribution jumped remarkably after the June
VanLUG meeting!)
Although we're not going to get this fancy on our first pass, you
might be interested in seeing what the Victoria LUG is doing in this
area. Just follow the link that Chris Halsall mentions below!
