Most Linux user groups identify "Linux advocacy" as one of their most
important activities. To me, advocating Open Systems and the use of
Open Standards is just as important, and, in the long run, perhaps
*more* important, than simply advocating a particular OS.
Business Week Online recently posted a dialog between a reader and
"Technology and You" columnist Steve Wildstrom concerning the need for
Microsoft to commit itself to the use of Open Standards in its
operating systems:
