Actually, we cheap out and use a few DAT drives. Even so, a good
fast DAT drive is going to set you back a thousand dollars or more.
Proper backup is probably the biggest cost in running a server.
For my personal machines I generally just shove in an old, slow
but large drive, and dump | gzip to files on it. There's no offsite
with this arrangement, so I keep a few critical things (PGP keys,
basically) on floppies elsewhere.
