I hope its not just the Slackware distribution that
supports A.OUT format. I find this format to be
far more efficient in terms of disk space and loading
time to the bloated ELF that is now in fashion.
I know the kernels as downloaded from
ftp://ftp.kernel.org
ask if you want executive support for A.OUT.
I am thinking of burning a large number of Linux Slackware
3.5 and giving them away at the next meeting. However
I do wish the club to consider
http://www.cheapbytes.com
as an alternate source. They are uneconomic for just
one CD-ROM, they eat you alive in shipping charges,
but a mass order from them would be economical
at $1.99/CD-ROM and they have all distributions
so someone could buy 1 of each and compare them.
I would prefer this alternative to supplying the Linux
Users Group with mass quantities of CD-ROMS.
