VanLUG Email Archive
The archive wasn't working while I had a temporary server in place;
it's now back and I restored most (all?) of the missing articles from my
mail folder.
I've made a few changes to the archive program (hypermail) to
generate some HTML metadata, use a style sheet etc., so newer messages
will appear with a cream background. I tested it and thought it was
working ... however, subsequent messages were bounced when hypermail had a
SIGSEV. This happened before at some point, when I moved old messages
to another folder and things were OK for a while.
Turns out hypermail had a buffer-overrun bug; if a message turns up
(or is in the archive) with a non-standard date in the From header,
an index would keep scanning forever for a month string. I've
fixed that, but such messages will probably get a goofy date -
I can't be bothered to fix it properly. At least it shouldn't bomb now
(touch wood).
