For a slightly higher end system Hanzon Computers on West 6th does a
decent job. Humprey, the owner, understands the hardware requirements of
a unix system (He has put together the hardware for both Linux and BSD
systems before) He just hasn't installed the OS. My family uses him
quite a bit and we have speced parts right down to the board level.
He also backs his systems to the hilt. I had mine crash on me and not
only did he figure out that it was the second hard drive (which I
installed myself 6 months earlier) but he figured out what was wrong and
offered to help out if I couldn't get the company I purchased the drive
from to exchange the defective drive.
I have purchased used parts from him before but I don't know if his store
does that normally or I got them because I am a friend of a friend. You
might call and check.
