I would like to know why Linux turns off the DMA
on my 11 gig Maxtor IDE hard drive when it tries
to mount the disk. The boot continues, and everything
seems to work, but I am puzzled why Ultra-DMA
does not seem to function properly. Has anybody
else experienced this? This is true even of the
latest kernels that I have downloaded from ftp://ftp.kernel.org
I understand that the development kernels are
supposed to have improved Ultra-DMA support,
but I still get this error message while booting...
