If it's an HPFS filesystem, he might be able to ignore the error. I
used to get various weird errors when reading my HPFS filesystems (and
I know Matthew has HPFS). OS/2 chkdsk always said the filesystems
were okay, and Linux access is read only anyway. (I say "used to"
because I'm almost taking OS/2 off this machine. Is it worth keeping
a minimal OS/2 install on here, just to be able to use OS/2 fdisk once
in a while?)
(By the way, call Matthew "Gold Squadron." :) )
And, if you're mucking around with multi-OS machines, like I am right
now, OS/2 fdisk is invaluable. I've used it a few times to fix the
dumb mistakes I make with Linux fdisk.
