InstallFest in The Province

Mark Wilson, editor of the Double Click section in The Province, has
agreed to present a "curtain raiser" for our Linux InstallFest in their
23 Sep 1998 edition. However, he would prefer that the material we
supply emphasize what's happening in B.C. rather than just generic Linux
facts.

We know the Linux retailer and Linux User Group situation. However, it
would be nice if we could give a few specific examples concerning the
use of Linux by local companies.

So, if you can supply me with an anecdote concerning how Linux has
helped your company or organization save money or solve a problem,
please let know ASAP.

Examples might be: Linux-based web server, Linux-based file and print
server, Linux-based workstations, Linux-based internet gateway,
Linux-based workstations for software development, Linux-based ISP's,
etc.

One thing I would like to hear more about: The Linux-based PVM's running
in Geography (Atmospheric Sciences) and Chemical Engineering.
