Hear, hear!
And I, for one, would sorely miss the input from Mr. Sampson if he saw fit
to not grace our group with his presence...
Those of us who have been around long enough to remember how the Unix
community blew the last window of opportunity...
Let us not do it again. I'm getting that horrible sinking feeling again,
first with the Gnome/KDE flame wars, and now with the current turmoil
surrounding LSB ( check out http://www.lwn.net/ ).
Let us reserve our passion for the battle against software mediocrity (and
all other sorts of lameness).
The fact that Curt has run a successful ISP business for these many years
on NetBSD speaks for itself. And there are more similarities than
differences between the various flavours of free Unix than differences.
But I don't mind the differences. There should be choices. Something for
everyone... :).
But acrimony we don't need.
Regards to this fine group!
