Vincent,

Thank you for the recent e-mail expressing your outrage at the proposed
media tax.

Our Party is constantly asking the government for tax relief and this is
one more example of how the government continues to ignore the wishes of
Canadians. I am forwarding your letter on your our Heritage critic, Inky
Mark. If you have further questions, or would like information with regard
to this issue, please do not hesitate to contact him at
.

My best wishes.

Sincerely,

Deborah Grey, M.P.
Edmonton North

As a young person living in Canda, I am appaled that such an action such
as Bill-C32 could get into effect. I am one of the few people it seem in
your eyes that actually use CD-R media for legitamite uses(note, this is a
generiliaztion, almost everyone I know uses their CD-R drive for
conviences such as making audio cds for personal use, backing up their
system, or making backup cds of their software(I've scratched so many of
my originals that backup copies needed to be made).

The idea of spending a 100% "tax"($2.50 for the cost of a cd, then an
additional $2.50 because its a 74min format) to help record companies that
are not losing money. Its actually pretty damn funny that you think this
bill will stop software/music pirates, since if they're selling the stuff,
they can usually go and make a glass-master or gold-master and print the
real McCoy for $0.01 each in units of a few thousand.

I'm having enough problems trying to pay my way through school and the
rest of life asis with all these fucking taxes the house lays on us, and
backups are 100% necessary when you're developing software.

This bill is a complete joke. Please help a young canadian to get some
faith back in the political system before you do something silly like
bring export laws on encryption in place(which doesn't help either, since
documentation on encryption systems is availiable freely in both book and
internet form, and wouldn't stop so called "terrorists" anyways).

Thank you for your time. I certainly hope that someone does something
with this letter.
