Here's the output from dselect:
Enter ftp site [ftp.debian.org]:
Use passive mode [n]:
Enter username [anonymous]:
If you are using anonymous ftp to retrieve files, enter your email
address for use as a password. Otherwise enter your password,
or "?" if you want dpkg-ftp to prompt you each time.
Enter password [root@geoff]:
Enter debian directory [/debian]:
Go through an authenticated FTP proxy [n]:
Note: order here is important. Package files are scanned in order so
later distributions will override earlier ones.
So put stable before unstable.
Enter space seperated list of distributions to get
[dists/frozen/main dists/frozen/non-free dists/frozen/contrib]:
Enter directory to download binary package files to
(relative to /var/lib/dpkg/methods/ftp/)

I think there may have been some problems while running autoup.sh.
Unfortunately, I let it do its thing since it took so long to dowload all
the files, so any problems it encountered were out of the buffer by the
time I got back. BTW, the version number of dselect is 1.4.0.23.2.
I have a feeling that libc5 was not fully dealt with while the program was
installing libc6. Unfortunately, I'm a real newbie (I've probably used
Linux no more than 30 times), so I don't know how to check that. I tried
to modify autoup.sh so it would just do the stuff that it does *after* it
downloads the .debs from debian.org, but it seems that the program has
deleted the .debs after using them.
Thanks for your help,
Geoff Smith
