I have one of the early digital cameras -- a Chinon ES3000. Actually, I
was a little disappointed with the quality. The camera was set on "low
quality/most compression" mode which creates artifacts for "group of
people in frame" shots. The camera writes to a PCMCIA flash card which
I transfer using a laptop. Resolution is 640x480, but it also has a
smaller size.
