This really reminds me of one of Gary Larsen's "Far Side" cartoons: Some
lady is looking in her car side mirror inscribed with the standard
"Objects in mirror are closer than they appear". The mirror shows a huge
black hole closing in fast :)

I think that we'll see some interesting ads in the next while now that
Microsoft's SEC filing officially acknowledged that they saw Linux in
their rear-view mirror.

Honestly, you would not think Intel invested in RHS just because they
thought this was going somewhere, did you? I sure wish that this is only
a reaction to some people on the Linux kernel group wanting to enhance
support for other x86 compatibles like the K6-2.

This would be an interesting development, for sure. We'll see NT-only
processor extensions to the alpha platform soon, along with a complete
non-disclosure agreement being required a'la the Intel Pentium and later
processor specific instruction set.

Next thing will be that Intel bought out TransMeta after their RISC CPU
rumours and Linus was suddenly missing.

The plot thickens...
