I've exchanged e-mail with Michael's boss, George Muenz. It sounds like
Brian has, too.
When George dealt with the FVLUG, he apparently followed the accepted
procedure: He contacted the list owner and sought permission to post a
notice regarding his company's service.
Unfortunately, Michael did not follow the accepted procedure when he dealt
with the VanLUG. Well, people make errors in judgment all the time.
However, George has assured me that we won't see a repetition in the
future.
Speaking of which, I checked out their website, http://www.atpstaff.com .
It contains some useful tutorial/background information and is thoughtfully
put together. Should one decide at some point to use a headhunter (whether
ATP or some other firm) either to seek employment or to seek employees,
it's worth a quick look.
In any case, George has accepted my invitation to give us a brief
(ten-minute) presentation at the next VanLUG meeting, subject to the terms
I outlined in my previous epistle to the list.
