I am coordinating the Registration and Security efforts for InstallFest
2.0, coming up on the 25th. It would be *greatly* appreciated if everyone
interested in helping out with registration and security at the InstallFest
could please email me (
).
Here's what you'd be volunteering to do:
1. Greet people when they arrive at the InstallFest
2. Ensure that they are registered (this next installfest is dedicated to
people who have already registered so we aren't expecting any walk-ins)
3. Help people bring their computers up from their cars if necessary (we
will have dollies so you shouldn't have to do any heavy lifting or anything
like that)
4. Label computer components as they come in the door so that we can make
sure the right equipment goes home with the right people
5. As people leave check to make sure they match up with the labels on the
equipment they are taking with them
Volunteering for Registration and Security is an *ideal* way for people who
do not feel confident enough in their Linux abilities (like me) to be an
installer but would still like to be involved in the InstallFest and help
out. It's also a great way to put faces to the names you've been reading
on this mailing list.
