Anyhow, aside from this, I have a descently working version of
linux on my p166, running smoothly, with a very old isa card,
and I can do 800X600 in 256 colours easily. What's
infuriating, is I have a PII at 266mhz, and a AGP card (matrox
G100), and I can't use the blasted thing over 16 colours, or
over 640X400 (because, seemingly, limits in the VGA16 driver).
What I'm curious about is, is there another way? Is there (I
can't find it) a generic AGP VGA256 driver? I'd be content
(but not happy) with a 256 colour display at 1024X768, its
certainly better than looking at 640X480 on a 19" monitor, with
my AGP card crying ;) Any suggestions?
