I just got my ADSL installed but I am having problems getting a connection.
I am able to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server and I get a netmask
of 255.255.0.0 but I don't get a gateway address or DNS.

Is the gateway associated with my ISP? or is the gateway on BCTel's network?

ps. Do I really need to subscribe to an ISP in order for ADSL to work? The
ISP is just storing my mail right? And I could easily setup my own DNS
server.
