I fucking hate windows. It's strong I know but they create confusion
just because they think entering one more dialogue box is going
to kill someone. DNS has nothing to do with the datalink or network
layers. Why not start up a nameserver server on the other end of
the ptp link? Once the ppp link is up call the nameserver discovery client
and be happy?

The only way to do that is to write a ms extension into pppd.
Of course you need to know HOW to do that. I wish you luck.
