Indeed. I still don't see the justification for putting it in the
PPP control protocol, which has nothing to do with IP, rather,
than, say IPCP, which has a lot to do with IP. :-)
Microsoft had a good idea, but they put network layer information
in the link layer setup protocol rather than the network layer
setup protocol, which is pretty goofy.
