I purge everything and intall X from scrache using packages from hamm.
During installation I noticed problem with overwriting.
Maybe first try purge all X packages and install new one from scrache.
Try to upgrade new packages one by one. I myself gonna wait some
packages in debian/slink still broken , but without knowing which
one you have truble.
