Linux in plain English - Volkerding, Reichard, MIS Press ISBN

    - great for begginners, includes a DOS - to - Linux translator.

UNIX for Dummies - IDG Books, ISBN 0-7645-5000
    - good reference (helps me to interpret posts to this list)

RedHat LINUX Unleashed, SAMS publishing, ISBN 0-672-30962-9
    - good reading, a little dated, but makes installation make more
sense
    - got this one on sale at Half Price Book Store
