Hmmm. Perhaps now would be a good time to call for volunteers interested in
organizing/teaching a course on bash, perl, TCP/IP, etc.

Background

At the VanLUG meeting on Monday night, I suggested that the next local step in
the evolution of the group (mailing list -> website -> monthly meetings ->
installfests -> COMDEX -> ? ) would be to start offering half-day or full day
courses on topics of interest.

By show of hands, the hundred or so (!) people in attendance showed their
general support for the notion. Topics of interest include "Linux for Windows
users", bash, perl, TCP/IP basics, SOHO network configuration, Samba
configuration, etc.

My preferred approach: Have the potential instructor present a 30 minute
overview on a topic at a VanLUG meeting before we commit to offering an
in-depth course.
