That would depend on what DHCP client software you use. I only have
experience with the ISC dhclient, and I run the login script from
/etc/dhclient-script (my hacked version is included on the website). If
someone else is using the login script with dhcpcd perhaps s/he could
chip in here.

Not that I can think of really. Just make sure it's owned by root, and
not readable by anyone but user.
