Heyo,
A while ago, I heard someone mention on this list, something about a
different audio device for linux. One that sat in front of /dev/dsp, and
allowed you to have more than one program access it at once...
Has anyone tried it? Does it impact audio quality at all? Can you have
unlimitied (well, a few) programs accessing the audio devices at the same time
with it? Does it eat cpu time like nuts, or not?
Anything you can tell me about this (and the name ;) would be greatly
appreciated... I've become annoyed at having mp3's playing, and not having
other sounds come through, when need be....
