In a story to be published in Monday's edition of Unigram.X (The Weekly
UNIX Newspaper), it is reported that IDC has released preliminary data
on server operating system shipments in 1998.

   System 1998 Shipment Volume Increase Over 1997
 ------------------- -------------------- ------------------

 Windows NT 1,560K 27.2%
 NetWare 1,050K 13.0
 UNIX (all) 758K 4.0
 Linux 750K 312.5%

Although Windows NT outshipped UNIX by numbers, UNIX shipments
outstripped NT in value with $2.8 billion in UNIX revenues as
opposed to 1.4 billion for NT.
