two questions folks

Using RH5.2

1)under x what server does one use for the ATI Rage IIc video card? I tried
most of the rage servers but end up with junk on the screen, ie it scrolls
like mad or I geta stable picture (flickers though) and it has say the left end
of the main terminal window dialogue box on screen, but it is there in 3
places, the only way I was able to finally get a proper x screen is to use
the generic vga server.

2)what device file does one use to write a tar file to a 24gb HP scsi dat
drive? ie tar -cvz <what you want to compress> -f /dev/<tape device>

http://www.hp.com/tape/datasheets/dat24.html
above is the drive in question the 24e model

what goes in <tape device>? Basically situtation is as follows, client is
doing document scanning under win9x and mac platforms which are
networked. The resulting images are sent to the win98/rh5.2 dual boot box
and stored in a specific directory (in the win98 fat32 partition) based on the
date. The plan is when say 2-3 gb of images are in the directory, boot in
rh5.2, and tgz the files onto the tape drive, this would be done 2-3 times a
day and end of day, they send tape off to their client who would load it onto
their unix system.

so, how does one do this? just use the above command line with correct
device file (once known)? I know there is the issue of using a rewinding or
non rewinding device and in this case it would seem to be that a non
rewinding device would be in order, that way after the first tgz has been
written the tape will be in the correct position for the second (and third) tgz
files

I have spent mucho time trying to find info on this and found that nothing
seems to say what device(s) to actually use.

The strange thing is I did find info on this about a year ago, but can't find it
anymore.
