another thing comes to mind, if I use the /dev/nst0 to write the tars, must I
use /dev/nst0 to read/restore the tars? or does it matter?

b4 I ask too many more questions (and I have a lot of em floating around in
my head on this topic) is there a GOOD faq on this subject that
summarizes what everyone has been saying?
