Hi
I've been working on getting my shaw cable modem to behave under
Linux. I'm using Slackware 3.4. One problem I have is that I cannot find a
driver
that will support the ethernet card I got from shaw.
The card is a 3Com Etherlink XL PCI. I'm not sure but it might be supported
by the
Vortex driver. I'm not sure about that and I can't find it on my
distribution cd's. Does
anyone know if this is the right driver and where is it hidden? I saw a
referance to
downloading it from a nasa site so I can get it if needed.
Also has anyone got any good info on setting this up? (ie to avoid any more
headaches)
I had it running for a whole half day and it died so I havn't had it up
long enough to figure out
much yet. I'm planning on using it as a gateway for my lan so if anyone has
done that as well.
Any help hint, etc would be appreciated.
