Linux advances in its quest for world domination. Or as one SlashDot poster
put it...World War 3.0.2b. :)
The way I see it:
WW-III Semifinals: The US vs China (UN Rules)
The mighty Penguins sent up one fighter and it fragged thirty Chinese
fighters, and was on its way to fragging a whole fighter wing until a
segmentation fault forced the US to call a time out.
Shortly thereafter the war resumed. The Chinese immediately called a
timeout because NT caused a general protection fault in one of their
battleships, shutting it down during a major sea battle. The US fast
frigate (heh) that was fighting it, inadvertently fired a second after the
time-out was acknowledged and sank the battleship, incurring a foul.
(The Chinese fleet automatically got moved 500 miles towards the US.)
A US military satellite fell out of the sky because it was still using an
old Pentium and miscalculated its orbital velocity by 0.0001. A 15 minute
timeout was granted to get another one in orbit.
Chinese troops were given the wrong coordinates to attack in the
Philippines due to the Y2k bug. 2 day timeout.
US Troops in Hong Kong find their night vision goggles need a new 3dfx
driver upgrade (Y2K issues again). China bombards their bunkers during the
3 minute driver upgrade period. Foul. US Troops automatically move 100 miles
inland.
Chinese artillery falls pray to the confounded Pentium bug. Foul - on the
US (Intel is found guilty of selling them the chips in order to bias the
war). US Troops go back to Hong Kong.
China is caught hacking into the US Navy's NT computers. Gets thrown out of
war. Default - US wins.
On to WW-III - the Finals... vs Russia.
