The click clacking sounds were on the day I went over there to see a
movie, not when I was fiddling with their computer. (They had
replaced the drive and the computer had been working for about a
week.) I didn't actually listen to the clicking, but from their
descriptions it didn't sound like a drive. Maybe I should go listen
tonight. :)
BTW I'm running another X in 16 bpp in another VC (as part of another
experiment) and neither focus follows mouse nor click to focus is
working over here. Maybe because I'm running two window managers.
