Hooman (from Exim Canada) has quoted me a list price of C$740 via email,
which works out to C$610 with the VanLUG discount, and adding shipping.
I haven't gotten back to him to get the pricing on the Patriot model,
but looking at the US list prices it should be under C$200.

To deal with him directly, please email sales@eximcanada.com, or call
(604) 662-3946, or fax (604) 662-3997. And please *don't* Cc the list
if you email them, we really don't need to know about unless you come up
with something truly interesting...

I would estimate 15 minutes conservatively. If you're *really* draining
500 watts, then probably less than that, but most computer power
supplies are not really draining anywhere near their rated capacity.

If you're really looking to supply that kind of load for an extended
period, then you'll have to go up a few models and look to pay quite a
bit more money. For basic protection of a simple home workstation, I'd
think the Patriot would probably be a better solution.

I had thought that all Best UPS models have buck and boost, but it's
possible the Patriots may not, as they're the low end model. The
fortress does provide this feature.
