ncftp's get -R does both subdir's and links. It also does FTP resume, handles
proxy servers and supports PASV mode to go through firewalls (and works over
ssh's port forwarding). In short, it's Great! ;)
For X, FileRunner's pretty good, it does recursive copies over FTP, FTP resume,
batch FTP, etc. It doesn't seem to handle symlinks over FTP, though, have
to send the author a note when I get a sec ...
