Now I forget the proper files, but it's the .Xerrors (or something) and
.Xauthorize file in the users home dir that the files are trying to
write (or overwrite) that X won't start. I ran into those problems when
I used to run FVWM2 and Afterstep. Just delete those files and X should
work
