Hi, all.
A few notes about our next VanLUG meeting on Monday, April 19:
1. PLEASE NOTE THE LATER START TIME! By popular demand, we're delaying
our start time until 7:30 pm because many people are simply finding it
too difficult to get out to UBC by 7 pm. If you want to come at 7 pm
and chat with others before the meeting, please feel free to do so. In
any case, we plan to start (and finish) the main meeting on time.
2. THE SEARCH FOR A NEW LOCATION IS MOVING FORWARD! Bill Howorth, CST
Program Head at BCIT, has offered to make a room available *at no
charge* for joint BCIT/VanLUG meetings. (Thanks to Marcos Bernaldez for
championing this!) However, we're not going to abandon UBC until we're
sure that the steering committee and the majority of VanLUG members are
comfortable with whatever new arrangements we make elsewhere.
3. AFTER THE MAIN DOORS TO CICSR ARE LOCKED, PLEASE ENTER BY THE DOOR
AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING. This simplifies things a lot, because the
door at the back (next to loading bay) can be covered by one person
rather than two. However, we're starting the meeting 30 minutes later
so we expect that EVERYONE will show up on time!
