I'm using the xfsft truetype font server with excellent results. I'm
running kernel 2.2.6 and xfree 3.3.3.1

for an excellent, to the point mini howto.
Editing Java source in the nedit text editor with syntax highlighting
turned on looks great with true type fonts, compared to being almost
unreadable without these fonts.
