I would use the smbmount program. Lets you mount a smb share in the tree,
just like a regular mount excepting that you can't put it in the fstab,
since it uses smbmount rather than mount. I have no idea whether your
existing kernel supports it, it's the kind of thing I'd put in a kernel, but
who knows, you may have to recompile and include it in the networked file
system section (just file system section if you are running 2.0.x)
