lp problem

I just bit the bullet and upgraded to Red Hat 6.0 and now I can't get my
printer to work. When I check the queue, I see this message:

waiting for lp to become ready (offline ?)
Rank Owner Job Files Total Size
1st rpavan 136 (standard input) 11981 bytes

I've tried resetting, and I've tried rebooting even, but I can't figure
out what to do here. The printer is on, the cable is fine, and I can
print in Windows just fine.

Any ideas?
