I really liked the VanGLUG option suggested by someone else:

And here is another version. We rename it to Vancouver GNU/Linux
Operator Group (VanGOG) and have the pengiun painted in abstract
expressionism. :)

I was also thinking of VanGagh where 'Gagh' is the infamous klingon food
but could come up with neither what such an acronym could stand for nor
a good picture of gagh.

(seriously speaking, I like the way it is/was (#1) because

1) the other two do not make it VanLUG as it seems to be registered

2) we already went through one renaming when it was called VLUG,
remember?

3) people are used to 'VanLUG' as it is very common, e.g. the email
address for the list contains the keyword and lots of other
materials/references do so.
