Keep a copy of xosview running. When you see that almost all of your
swap space has been eaten up, shut down Netscape and StarOffice (and
restart them the next time you want to use them).
When that doesn't help any more, shut down the X server and restart it.
Besides having memory leaks of its own, Netscape seems to provoke the X
server into acquiring memory that doesn't go away when Netscape exits.
