Hi, all.
The Vancouver Linux Users Group will host a special breakfast
presentation by Tim O'Reilly (founder/owner, O'Reilly & Associates) on
Thu, Sep 23, 1999. The exact time and place will be announced in a few
weeks.
Tim will be giving a dinner talk at the BC TIA AGM on the previous
evening. Dick Hardt of ActiveState approached Tim on our behalf
regarding the possibility of a VanLUG breakfast meeting before Tim
returns to California. The answer was yes, so be prepared for a busy
week!
(Yes, that's the same day that Richard Stallman will be speaking at
CICSR, and the same week that Dean Patterson of Rogers Cablesystems will
be speaking to us on Hybrid Fibre Coax Networks. As Dick Hardt
commented, "Open Source overload in Vancouver!")
It's almost a good thing that room booking considerations forced us to
postpone LinuxFest to 2 October!
