Hi, all.
On VanLUG's advice, CICSR has moved Richard Stallman's lecture
concerning GNU/Linux and Free Software on Thu, 23 Sep 1999 (4:00 - 5:30
pm) to the Woodward IRC (Instructional Resource Centre), Lecture Hall
2. This room has a capacity of just under 500 people. Address: 2194
Health Sciences Mall, UBC.
VanLUG's task: Help to advertise the event and fill the lecture hall
with interested members of the software development, computing, science,
and engineering communities in Vancouver. Dr. Ward (Director of CICSR)
has approved our plan to publicize the event through the NetWorks
section of the Vancouver Sun.
Word of mouth is still the best form of advertising, however. Please
let your friends and colleagues with an interest in Linux and
UNIX know about this event. In accepting our advice, CICSR has taken a
bit of a gamble. Now we need to follow through with a good turn out!
