I've just put up a new server, say xxx.whatever.com on RH6.0, stock
kernel etc right off the CD. I set up sendmail to accept mail for
"whatever.com" - via linuxconf. I send email to whoever@whatever.com and it
gets rejected like so:
<whoever@whatever.com>... Deferred: Connection refused by mail.whatever.com.
However, on the server itself, if I go "mail whoever" it gets delivered
just fine, so local mail is OK.
So... er... I have in fact set up sendmails lotsa times, but not for a
few years. Any pointers on who's redirecting to "mail.whatever.com"?
I mean, it'd be easy to tell xxx.whatever.com that it's also
mail.whatever.com, but it would be nice to know why. -Tim
