I loaded http://speedtest.mybc.com and got a dismal 1.22 megabits/second.
I phoned BC Tel to complain and was told that the limit was due to the
distance between me and the nearest local exchange. They said there would
be no advantage in going to a higher speed plan, as the distance between
me and the nearest local exchange would still limit me to 1.2 megabits/sec
